Improv in Toronto has been given the opportunity to run a giant real life Where’s Waldo Game at the On The Pulse Festival this year!

Harbourfront Centre and Improv in Toronto take the classic renowned book, and bring it to life. The pages will jump out of the book as fake Waldos are placed around the Harbourfront site. With help from the fake Waldos, who will be giving clues and handing out tasks, and with some clever sleuthing skills, families will be able to solve the mystery to find the real Waldo.

Sunday, July 3, 3-5 p.m. (Redpath Stage and Harbourfront Centre Site)

Confirm your attendance through our facebook event: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/event.php?eid=213681661998691

NOTE: This event is more family oriented in terms of difficulty. We still encourage you to come out and enjoy the game, as well as the festival no matter your age. More than anything though, we are looking for as many volunteers as possible to play fake Waldos.

So, if you can volunteer, please do email us at improvintoronto@gmail.com

Upcoming: Free Hugs 2011

June 6th, 2011 | Posted by Cole in Completed Missions - ()

7 years ago, one man, going by the name “Juan Mann”, set out to embrace passersby in the streets of Sydney, with nothing more than two arms.

Every year, on International Free Hugs Day, Improv in Toronto commemorates this man’s actions by gathering together the world’s largest brigade of Free Huggers.

This year is no different.
On July 2nd, come out and join Improv in Toronto as we continue to commemorate Jaun Mann’s work on the streets of Toronto.
We will be meeting at Nathan Philip’s Square at 3:00 p.m. to meet quickly before going out and delivering our hugs.

Feel free to join us at our freeze event earlier that day as well!

Upcoming: Harbourfront Freeze

June 6th, 2011 | Posted by Cole in Completed Missions - ()

We’re bringing back a favourite: The Freeze!

On cue, we will freeze in place for 5 whole minutes before casually returning to what we were doing 5 minutes ago – all to the bewilderment of onlookers.

We will be meeting inside the Harbourfront Centre, and then going outside to do the actual freeze: Lakeside Terrace – in the York Quay Centre (Main Floor, South End)
The event will be on July 2nd. Make sure to be there for 1:30pm. Don’t be late otherside you will miss out!
Feel free to join us after the freeze for this years free hun event later that day!

1)

We have implemented a new feature on our site, called our Skills Database.
Essentially it is a checklist of skills we may one day need in a future mission.
If any apply to you, you check it off!

http://improvintoronto.com/skills/

And we’re putting the database to work already!
We’re running a small mission next weekend. Specifically for those who do improv.
The details are being sent to those who have checked off improv within our database.

If that’s something you’re interested in, be sure to check it off.

2)

Our online t-shirt sales is FINALLY up and running.
Remember, every t-shirt sale goes towards financing future events:

LASTLY, is their interest in a giant foam sword battle?
We might charge $4(ish) per sword, to raise money for IT.
Thoughts?
