Real Life Carmen Sandiego

There used to be a quiz show on TV for children called Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego. In the show the contestants would be detectives and have to answer questions in order to catch the fictional Carmen Sandiego.

What we did was take the show out of the television studio and eliminated the questions. It became a true manhunt (woman-hunt?) for the elusive Carmen.

We set up a starting point where the lead detective gave the teams their challenge. All that was known was that Carmen was somewhere in Toronto. Clues to her exact whereabouts were known by shady members of society that were scattered in the PATH walkway system.

But these clues weren’t going to be easy to get. In order to get each clue, there was a task that had to be performed by each team of detectives. Once the teams had collected all the clues they were to be brought back to the lead detective who was waiting at city hall. But time was short. The teams had to be quick and find the whereabouts of Carmen before she left town which was why there was a prize for the first team to finish.
