Darkness and Light Dance
For out latest mission over 70 agents took up the call, and learned an 8 minute long choreographed dance. While dressed fully in black , we converged upon Dundas Square and performed before the unsuspecting crowds. Enjoy the video first and then go behind the scenes with our report below.
Admittedly the `flash mob dance` is almost an over-used idea, and one that has been done so perfectly, it is difficult to live up to. We knew that going into this mission, but knew we had to do it anyways. The goal of our missions is not to make a global viral video, but to bring enjoyment to the participants as well as those who would see the dance. With that in mind, we were able to book a location to practice our dance routine for a number of hours.
Choreographers going over the first move
Agents copying the move
More moves being learned
Once all the moves had been learned, and the dance was ingrained in everyone’s memory, we made our way over to Dundas Square. We milled about for a bit, until the DJ’s arrived on the scene.

A crowd begins to form
Spectators take some pictures
The final pose
The crowd merges
As the dance finished, the choreographed dance slowly turned into a dance party. People watching the event unfold were encouraged to join in with the dancing. Eventually though, the crowd formed a circle around some of our more talented dancers.
Doing some break dancing in the middle
And the finish!
We had an amazing time working on this mission. The opportunity to work with choreographers in an actual studio, is something we were very lucky to have, and really enjoyed. Along the way, we had the chance to learn a new dance, and perform it in public to a crowd of unsuspecting fans.
Mission Accomplished!
Oohhhh . .. .awesome.
too bad that i had to go to the commencement
awesome mission!
I was in Boston this weekend, and missed the fun! Next time …
That Eddie Cheung guy was such an ass at YongeDundas Square. He was constantly pushing people arround without any care in the world. You’re not special buddy, you don’t own the place so stop acting like a dickwad.
Otherwise, what an excellent event. I had a great time dancing around in downtown. Do it again!
@Baker
Hey Baker,
I’m really sorry to hear that I ruined most of your night, or at least a part of it, I was extremely stressed as a number of things could’ve gone wrong, I was antsy and trying to put out fires.
I hope that you can give IT another chance by coming out to another mission, hopefully the rest will be a lot let stressful on the team.
